should be a 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 stars. I really love the writing and characters in this series. This book seemed like it was a background filler and lead up for the battle royal to follow. It was still very good and I enjoyed it but I'm Looking forward to the next installment in this series. Hopefully soon and with a little more meat in it.
What an awesome book! I just LOVE Kaidan and I HATE Gin. Genos is a favorite too. You've done such a great job with these, Joshua! When are YOU going to write an author's note or two? I would really like to hear your thought processes. Your old man should be proud! Keep churning out the awesome stories guys!
Liked the story and plotlines. What kept stopping me was when I'd read a sentence and then have to reread it due to mixed tense or extra words. It made it confusing and broke the flow.
I liked all of it, especially the back story on Gin Sonny. I like the mix of VR and reality. Looking forward to see where this series goes.
Maybe it's just me but I didnt think this book was as good as the others. Dont get me wrong it's still good. But it seemed more like filler. Kaiden does a bounty mission on the side for a million credits, keeps doing his school thing (I wont Spoiler the interesting parts of the mission) but it seemed like this book was mostly just filler, theres alot about Gin and his crazy self including his back story wich honestly I didnt care about at all. I'm also disappointed in the lack of any litrpg aspects in the recent books. Kaiden gets no upgrades in this book. No point total and no idea what his planned path is.Still looking forward to the next book though.
The story seemed fragmented, and there is a future Animus issue hinted at, but overall this book was just okay. Whet really soured this book was the extensive typos. Many sentences I had to reread because of missing words, wrong words, or apparent edits that retained wording before an edit. Book five definitely needs a proofread.
This book is not as good as the previous ones in the series, but I liked the Gin Sonny backstory. It gives some reality to the bad guy who was a one-dimensional character in the previous books. It would have been nice for more of the characters we know and love to be included in this book. The other reviews about poor editing were correct and this was something that the other books did not suffer. There were several places in the book where the sentence did not make sense. I do hope there are more books coming in this series.
Wow, great epilogue, way to almost make you feel bad for the villain (Gin Sonny). Also a great beginning to another book. And what a cliff hanger to guarantee everyone wants to keep reading this series to find out what is happening at the Nexus Academy and what Kaiden"s part will be. Yes, there are some typo's and poor word choices, but still a great story , by Michael Anderle PDF
